A dandy like Dorian

I realize some of you have had some trouble seeing the relevance of A Picture of Dorian Gray, especially when we talked about how the real novel in some ways mimics the fictional painting of Dorian Gray, in that it changes over time.
For fun, I thought I would connect you with the work of Yinka Shonibare, a British-based artist born in Nigeria. His images seem a little strange at first, but watch the short art21 video about him where he explains what he's doing with this project and others. He does a great job of explaining why it is important to visit older literature, music, fashion and visual art to find out how they were produced and why.
You'll like the video, and its short. In the comments, you can vote for which series of artwork by Shonibare you like best.
