When we speak things fall out of our pockets
Paul Holdengräber interviews Adam Phillips, a self-described child psychotherapist who writes books. They speak to issues such as why we carry around quotes, the difficulty of relating to others and understanding ourselves, how we we need to increase our frustration and why we should think less when we write. Also discussed is Sigmund Freud and his thoughts on biographies, and what Philip Larkin means when he says "And don't have kids yourself" (his poem is below.)
Do you want children? Why or why not? What do you think of the video? Would you talk to Adam Phillips about your problems?
